Ms Emily West

Emily is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon working in Bristol. Her time is divided between Southmead Hospital where she is the Clinical lead for Hand Surgery and the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where she is the Co-lead for Children's Plastic Surgery. 
Her time is divided between trauma/ elective upper limb reconstruction, particularly focussing on complex fracture management, complex orthoplastic upper limb injuries, nerve injuries, Children's hand trauma and congenital hand surgery. 
She is passionate about teaching and education both locally and more widely, lecturing regularly at Hand Surgery conferences/ courses across the UK and in Europe. She is an Examiner for the European Diploma of Hand Surgery. 
She is very keen on working closely with her anaesthetic colleagues to provide the best and most appropriate care for her patients. She is a particular champion of regional anaesthesia, and is delighted to be invited to speak today!
